Olive Wood Resources
In
the years before Christ, a dove returned to Noah during the
flood with an olive branch, a demonstration of new signs of
life. Throughout history they have offered their food, oil,
leaf and shelter to people. The Bible refers to this ancient,
plant as "the king of trees," and even “the tree of life."
Perhaps this is because the same tree and it’s healing
properties symbolize health, peace, refuge, and prosperity.
The high position held by the Olive tree in ancient days was
also demonstrated when Moses exempted men from military
service who cultivated such trees. Finally, Scriptural and
classical writings the oil is mentioned as a symbol of
goodness and purity, and the tree as representing peace and
happiness. The oil, in addition to its wide use in diet, was
burnt in the sacred lamps of temples.
